Course Catalog: Comprehensive Piercing

Our Comprehensive Piercing Intensive course consists of 40 class-hours of instruction and practice, rooted in the traditions and esotericism at the heart of body piercing. This course is designed for those who already possess a significant amount of body piercing experience, equivalent to at least two years full-time professional (post-apprenticeship) work. Applicants should possess a keen interest in the art, craft, and business of body piercing, as well as a desire to explore, develop, and expand their existing skillset. Students will perform evaluated piercings on volunteers, and be provided feedback identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.

As this course includes supervised student piercings, a current OSHA-and-California-compliant Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) training certificate (course minimum of two hours—which we recommend students obtain from the APP website) and a California piercer registration, which we will obtain for you as part of the enrollment process if necessary, are required.

Subject Matter Covered:

Basic and Advanced Techniques for 30 Body Piercings; Physiology of Healing and Piercing Aftercare; Health and Safety Updates and Perspective; Piercing Fundamentals: Skin, Clamped Piercing, Freehand Piercing, Tool-Free Piercing, Breathing for Pain Control, Needles and O-Needles, Surface Bars and Anchors; Body Jewelry Materials and Jewelry Updates; Documentation and Record-Keeping; APP Membership; Running and Optimizing a Successful Shop; Online Marketing and Social Media; History of the Body Piercing Movement and Industry; Incorporating Energy Sensitivity and Shamanism into everyday body piercing

Students receive a detailed set of Technique Sheets, Workbook, Health & Safety Manual and Certificate of Attendance. Attendees at Fakir Intensives receive the best instruction currently available to do highly skilled and sophisticated body piercing.
